I’m running CLS2SIM on a VM, because McAfee on the host PC (also running X-Plane) reports it as malware.
It reports:Adaptive Threat Protection repaired C:\Program Files (x86)\Brunner Elektronik AG\CLS2Sim\CLS2Sim.exe file, because its reputation (Known Malicious) is below the configured Clean threshold.
I have logged this with Brunner support, but they blame McAfee! As a work-around I’m instead running a Windows 10 VM under VirtualBox, and passing the USB device through to that.
Windows defender on the VM also complained about CLS2SIM, but I was able to over-ride it.HOWEVER… the VM regularly crashes when running CLS2SIM.
Windows Event viewer shows this event:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000028, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff8037a01307c). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 9d6bf167-b1e3-4bdb-bc6b-438f5ccc2cbb.I have also tried another VM, running Windows 10 Enterprize, from here:
Exactly the same, runs perfectly, but after starting CLS2SIM, it crashes within 20-30 minutes.
Any suggestions how to resolve this?

Best solution is to stop using McAfee as it’s useless anyway. Their method of protection is to presume everything is malicious and block it. I recommend ESET for anti virus protection it’s much more intelligent and pretty much set and forget if you want to use it that way.
