Many flight sims (including DCS) offer native force feedback support through Microsoft’s DirectInput API. However, CLS2Sim doesn’t support this, instead controlling stick forces and effects indirectly through its own settings. This severely limits the potential and capability of the force feedback devices. Many users are reluctant to consider Brunner due to this, either continuing without force feedback, or seeking alternatives, such as DIY force feedback, the old Microsoft FFB2 stick, or the upcoming VPForce “Rhino” base, intended as a direct competitor to the CLS-E. Properly implementing full compatibility would enable far more accurate and realistic behavior than currently possible.
