    Hey,

    Version: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b167881/f49t484p1918n43_kdaEGNOe.png
    X-Plane 11.41 and 11.50, Win10, CLS-E NG

I am frequently loosing connection (and therefore any control) with X-Plane.
    – every time when changing the aircraft (I can live with that)
    – still much too often during flight (that´s nasty)
    – very often during helicopter flight

Now for possible reasons. Meanwhile I set up a little window into my videos to see the “LED” if CLS2sim is still connected to the sim (half way up on the right side). In this video it lost connection when I changed the time of day. Coincident?

    …and a reconnect disconnects the autopilot: https://youtu.be/SvSJcy1XXws?t=1247
…again when fiddeling in the menu: https://youtu.be/SvSJcy1XXws?t=2055
    A timeout problem?
Again when being in menu: https://youtu.be/DutXxwPeTYw?t=1121
Reconnect stops main rotor (with unhappy ending but most likely not a Brunner problem) https://youtu.be/DutXxwPeTYw?t=1464
    Replay outside view: https://youtu.be/DutXxwPeTYw?t=1668

Second problem: when changing the active window by Alt-Tab I always have to select the CLS2sim window twice. Since I normally do that only because it has lost the connection to the sim one might have something to do with the other.

Any idea where to start looking for the problem?

    Hi langschwert

It is normal that you loose connection when you are in the menue in X-Plane 11
Just enable Auto Connect under Simulator in Connection Settings
    see also here…

I just delightfully wanted to try that – but it already is set that way and still loses connection and doesn´t reconnect automatically. It only automatically connects to the yoke (not being the problem anyway) but not to the sim.

Is there anything wrong with my settings?

    Hello,

    I also have this problem.

It does not only occur in pause mode or when I am in a menu of X-Plane, but also when reloading the scenery takes a bit longer (2-3s).
If this happens, like when approaching EDDS westwards, the 10 seconds it takes autoconnect to reconnect means a crash.

Is it possible to extend the time until a disconnection or shorten the time for a new connection?
I have looked at all the findable config files, I could not find a corresponding parameter so far.

The way it works (not) with X-Plane now, an approach with photorealistic scenery is a dice game.

    Greetings
    Günther

    I forgott,
the interruptions are much more frequent since I am using version 11.50 of X-Plane (I use the Vulkan driver).

I know you are busy, so a yes or no would be enough (for the first time) 🙂

    Hello again,

Here is an example of how the long duration of reconnection affects.
The video shows the disconnection a few seconds after the video start, when the connection was given again can be clearly seen.

It looks like CLS2SIM does not use a stable method for the connection to X-Plane.
It would be helpful if there were no 10 seconds delay for the reconnection to start.

I find it strange that I do not get an answer from Brunner.
I guess the only thing left for me to do is to open a ticket.

    Still no answer.
Maybe too much work with new MSFS 2020 customers, time to forget older ones, huh?

I have the same problem in Xplane 11.52R2 and CLS version 4.29 when pausing or changing location the controls takes more than 10 seconds to reconnect. It ends up causing a crash when I move aircraft at low altitude. This occurred all along but the reconnect time was much less with older versions of the CLS software.

    Hi,

I’ve started experiencing this too, lately. I have never experienced this before, ever since starting with Brunner yoke in 2017 and rudder in 2020.

Has anyone found any solution to this?

I’m running XP11.51 (or 52? Whatever the newest is), and firmware and software is updated. I have a feeling this happened after the last 602-608 firmware update, but I could be wrong.

It’s infuriating, however, as this constantly threatens my flying – especially close to the ground.
The 5 second reconnect time is useless for this. It needs to not lose connection in the first place.

Hope the developers can be on the ball on this! @Sbrunner

    Yours,

    Erik

Hi, I found that if I went back to CLS software version 4.31.3 and used the plugins from that version the connection problem is much less than I had with the newest version. I have 6 simulators running Xplane 11.51 and I changed them all back to 4.31.3 and made sure to take out the plugins from the other newer versions. I found if I flew over water or other areas with few graphics the CLS software was updating much more quickly since the frame rate was much higher and that is when the loss of connection happened. When I went back to the older CLS software this did not happen even at the higher frame rates.

    Hope this helps.

That is interesting, as the places I lose connection is in areas in XP where I get very high FPS…

Where do you find that old CSL software?

I keep all the older software on file in case things like this happen. I can send it to you if you give me your email address.
