I am thinking about purchasing CLS joystick interface to add a VPC Mongoos T50 CM2 grip.
My question is simple: do I need also to get some VPC base to setting up the Mongoos grip previously? Is it enough to purchase directly the CLS base interface?

You don’t need the VPC base. ClS-E is the e base and has its software
