I own and fly a 2006 Diamond DA-42 IRL, and have built a pretty good sim with Prepar3D V4.5, Simionic G1000 package (bezels and iPads), CLS-E rudder pedals and CLS-E Joystick with VPC WarBRD grip, Saitek Pro Switch Panel, DTP trim panel and flap switch. Haven’t found a good KAP140 panel yet.
Presently, there is only a MSFS DA-62 Profile in the Cloud. I have it loaded in CLS2Sim, but it just doesn’t quite feel like my airplane yet – for examples: the control loading forces aren’t as strong as what I feel on the controls when flying IRL; and, the hardware trim settings are confusing to me. I’m studying the CLS2Sim documentation, which does a pretty good job of explaining the features and options – but it doesn’t give me the simple correlations I need to enter the various settings and numerical values for forces and curves, etc. that match my airplane.
My ultimate goal is to upgrade to the Pro version of P3D with instructor station, and FAA-qualify the sim setup as an approved ATD.
I’m seeking the advice of those who have all this figured out already, please – thank you in advance for your attention and assistance.
