For the CLS-E Mk II yoke and CLS-E Mk II rudder is it recommended to fit an emergency stop button, or is that only needed for more powerful control loading systems?

No this is not needed, but it is possible you can switch of the AC Power Lines with an Emergency Circuit (Safety Relais and Stop button)
We recommend to use a Power strip with a switch, so you can easly power on/off the devices.
