How to properly upgrade to a new version of CLS2Sim

I think I asked about this before but can’t find the post now.

When you’re informed a new version of CLS2Sim is available when you launch CLS2Sim, what is the correct/recommended upgrade procedure?

Do you need to start by manually uninstalling all existing components (CLS2Sim, simulator plugin(s) and vJoy) before installing the new versions? Or can you simply install the new versions of CLS2Sim, sim plugins and vJoy on top of the old versions?

Was hoping for a quick response to this rather simple question.

Sorry if I overlooked it in the documentation available but couldn’t find anything about upgrading the different software components.

Hi

Just install it… and update the plugins (X-Plane, vjoy)
your settings should not be lost

if you want to make a backup of your old version copy or rename the CLS2Sim folder
