Virpil has discontinued the T50 grip and added the T50-CM2 with more Hats and buttons. There web site says it has increased bindable buttons from 23 to 35. It apparently shares the same plug however. Will Brunner make the needed changes to the CLS-E Joystick to facilitate the added capability of the new T50-CM2? If not, it appears TM Warthog grip and the stock Brunner grip would be the only options?

    Thank you,
    Don

Was able to get my hands on the CLS-E yoke at FSExpo (thanks for the heads up Mario.) It is a great piece of equipment that certainly adds to the immersion level of flight simming. However I’m more in the market for a stick so I’m looking toward the CLS-E Joystick!

    Hi

The new CLS-E Joystick (since june 2019) will support all the virpil grips..
The older ones need a small hardware change

It works great so far. (day 1). only thing is that the clsim software isnt able to calibrate the wheel brake lever yet. Im very pleased it actually functions as an axis instead of a button unlike on the cougar or warthog bases yet it remains unusable for time being if we can’t calibrate it. it doesnt show the brake lever under analog inputs.

I trust this will be remedied in a later version of the software.

    Hi

The wheel brake can be calibrated over the standard game controller interface in windows… also the mapping can be done directly in the simulation software. May we will also add this feature in CLS2Sim in the next updates.

    Thanks Stefan,

Most vendors usually warn not to calibrate via windows but to use their dedicated software. but i got it functional somewhat. although the axis triggers a button press at 75 percent which finishes the calibration prematurely. so i have a 1/3 dead zone at the end of the axis. not a problem but would like to see it in your software some day. no rush. Im very grateful your brunner base supports the entire grip as it is. with extension of 12,5 cm this thing is a dream flying choppers in DCS on top of your base!

I am unable to get all the buttons to work on the CM2 grip. I cannot calibrate it with the VPC software and the CLS2sim does not see some buttons. Pls advise how to get all buttons to work.

Got it to work fine. It seems I had a connection problem.

Hi blaser, you cant use the virpil software because that softwareprograms the mongoost50cm2 base or warbrd base and you have a brunner base.

If you have a unit from before june you need to have a hardware change as stated above by brunner.

windows has changed its calibration process. it wont finish prematurely when a button depress is detected at 75 percent in the brake lever axis. now its 100 percent compatible with the brunner base!

Hi Stefan, Any idea what can be done to support the CM2 grip on my joystick? I ordered shortly before June as you indicated above.

tzangetsu what is the issue with your grip and base?
    Thanks

I run into an issue where the buttons don’t work regardless of what I do. I can change the grip type to the CM2 variant, close CLS2SIM then power cycle the joystick as per instructions in the software. But when I re-open CLS2SIM, it’s always recognized as the VPC T-50 grip and not the CM2 version.

I have firmware 394, so I thought it was just an old firmware issue, until I found this post where Stefan mentioned the bit about a “small hardware change”. Is this something that requires the joystick to be sent back to Brunner to get taken care of?

Best thing to do is open a ticket you can discuss the issue directly. It’s a small internal solder job on very small pcb. Something not done with your regular solder head at home. For ease of service and warranty issues I gather it’s saver to return to brunner. But I have had my local radio/pc shack handle it with instructions sent to me by brunner.

Yeah, I have a ticket open. I’m based in the US, but I’d definitely prefer to send it back to them to avoid voiding the warranty.
